What Is the Ghost 2?
The Ghost 2 — Autowatch call it the Ghost-II — is a CAN-bus immobiliser that stops your car being started by anyone who doesn’t know your PIN. It sits quietly on the vehicle’s own data network. Before the engine will run, a unique sequence has to be pressed on buttons the car already has: the steering wheel controls, the door panel, the centre console.
There is no extra key fob. No tag in your pocket. No flashing LED on the dashboard to tell a thief something is fitted. It emits no radio signal, so it doesn’t show up on the scanners thieves use, and it cuts into no wiring, so it doesn’t affect your manufacturer warranty. Someone can hold your actual key and still not drive your car away.

What It Actually Stops
Relay Theft
Two people, one outside your front door capturing your key’s signal through the wall, one at the car. With a Ghost 2 fitted the doors may open — the engine stays dead.
Stolen or Cloned Keys
Keys fished through a letterbox, taken in a burglary, or cloned at a service. Normally that’s the car gone. With a PIN-code immobiliser the real key on its own is not enough.
CAN Injection
Cutting into bodywork behind a headlight or wing to reach the wiring and send commands that unlock and start the car. The Ghost 2 still wants its PIN, so the injection gets them nowhere.
Fitting Day — What Happens
We come to you. Your car stays on your own drive, or at your workplace — it never goes to a unit and you’re never without it. The install takes a few hours.
When it’s done we set your PIN sequence with you, walk you through disarming it until it’s second nature, show you service mode for garage visits, and cover the emergency procedure if you ever forget your code. You get your TASSA certificate for your insurer, and you deal with the installer directly afterwards — not a call centre. Change cars later and ask us about moving the system across.

Is the Ghost 2 Thatcham approved?
It’s TASSA-approved, which is the recognised standard for CAN-bus immobilisers of this type and is widely accepted by insurers. It isn’t a Thatcham-category device — those categories cover alarms and trackers rather than PIN-code immobilisers. If your insurer has asked specifically for Thatcham, talk to us and we’ll tell you honestly what you need.
Will the Ghost 2 fit my car?
It covers a very wide range of makes and models. Some newer vehicles need the Ghost Pro or Ghost FD instead. Send us your registration and we’ll confirm exactly which one your car takes before you commit to anything.
What if I forget my PIN?
There’s an emergency procedure, and we go through it with you on the day so you’re never stuck. We can also change your code later if you need it.
Will it affect my warranty?
No. It connects to the car’s existing CAN data network without cutting the wiring loom, so it doesn’t interfere with the manufacturer’s systems. It can be removed without trace if you sell the car.
Is a Ghost 2 the same as a Ghost II?
Yes — same product. Autowatch write it as Ghost-II; most people say Ghost 2. If you’ve been quoted for either, it’s this system.
