What Is the Nitro Immobiliser?

The Nitro immobiliser is a TASSA-approved CAN-bus immobiliser that adds a hidden, second layer of security your car didn’t leave the factory with. It connects invisibly to your vehicle’s CAN network — no cut wires, no aftermarket look — and simply refuses to let the engine start until it recognises you. Carry the paired Bluetooth tag or pair your mobile phone and it disarms automatically as you get in; your personal PIN sequence, entered on the vehicle’s own buttons, is always there as backup.

Nitro Immobiliser or Nitro Pro — Is There a Difference?

No — they’re the same system, and people ask for it both ways. Some search for the Nitro immobiliser, others for the Nitro Pro; you’ll also see it listed as the Nitro Pro CAN-IMMO or the Nemesis 2. “Nitro” is the family of CAN-bus immobilisers, “Pro” is the Bluetooth-tag version we fit, and “Nemesis 2” is the name the same technology is sold under elsewhere. How It Works

Every time you switch off the engine, the Nitro Pro arms itself automatically. When you return, it looks for your paired Bluetooth tag or smartphone — find it, and the car starts as normal, with nothing extra to do. If the tag isn’t present (or its battery is flat), you can disarm with your personal PIN sequence using the buttons already in your car — steering wheel, pedals or dash. Without the tag, phone or PIN, the engine will not start. Even if a thief has your actual key in their hand, the car stays put.

That is the all-in figure we quote. There is no call-out charge, no mobile-fitting surcharge, and no subscription — an immobiliser has nothing to subscribe to. If you are comparing quotes, two things are worth checking on any figure you have been given: whether it includes VAT, and whether it includes fitting at your address. That is usually where a cheaper headline price goes.

Will the Nitro Immobiliser Fit My Car?

Because the Nitro is a CAN-bus system rather than a universal kit, compatibility depends on your vehicle’s own network. Yes. The engine will not start without your Bluetooth tag, paired phone or PIN — so a relayed signal, cloned key or OBD tool gets a thief nowhere, even with your key in their hand.

Will my insurer recognise it?

The Nitro Pro is TASSA-approved and we’re a TASSA-registered installer (Member No. 0009), which is the recognition many insurers ask for. We provide certification with every install.

How long does installation take?

Is there a monthly subscription?

What happens at the garage, or if I lend the car to someone?

There’s a service mode for exactly that. It lets a garage, valet or family member drive the car without your PIN or tag, and you switch it back on afterwards. We show you how before we leave.

What if the tag battery dies or I leave my phone at home?

You’re not stranded. Your personal PIN sequence, entered on buttons the car already has, disarms the immobiliser on its own — the tag and the phone are conveniences on top of it, not the only way in.
