Why vans get targeted

Modern van theft rarely involves brute force. The two methods we see most often are:

Relay attacks. Thieves use signal-boosting devices to capture your key fob’s signal from inside your house and trick the van into unlocking and starting — without ever touching your keys. It takes seconds and makes no noise.

Tool theft via forced entry. Even when the van itself isn’t the target, criminals will “peel” a door or defeat the factory lock to strip the contents. For a working tradesperson, a van full of tools can be thousands of pounds gone overnight.

Factory security is predictable and, increasingly, easily bypassed. A proper aftermarket layer is what actually stops these attacks.
